These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Stepsies (“Service”). By accessing or using the Service at https://stepsies.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to abide by these Terms and comply with all applicable laws and regulations. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you may not access the Service.

2. Description of Service

Stepsies is a platform that allows users to create, publish, and share interactive step-by-step guides. The Service includes features for content creation, analytics, lead capture, and embedding guides on external websites.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must register for an account. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information during registration
  • Maintain the security of your account credentials
  • Promptly update any information to keep it accurate
  • Accept responsibility for all activities under your account
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create and submit through the Service (“User Content”). By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, transferable, sub-licensable, worldwide license to use, store, display, reproduce, modify, and distribute your User Content solely for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.

You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to your User Content and that it does not violate any third party’s intellectual property or other rights.

5. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Infringe on intellectual property rights of others
  • Transmit harmful, offensive, or unlawful content

6. Subscription and Payments

Some features of the Service require a paid subscription. By subscribing:

  • You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis
  • Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
  • Prices may change with 30 days notice
  • Refunds are handled according to our Refund Policy

We process payments through Stripe and PayPal. Your payment information is handled according to their respective privacy policies.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are owned by our parent company and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal or internal business purposes. This license does not include the right to modify, copy, distribute, or create derivative works of the Service.

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe:

  • Violates these Terms or our Acceptable Use Policy
  • Is harmful to other users, us, or third parties
  • Is fraudulent or illegal

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STEPSIES AND ITS PARENT COMPANY SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Stepsies, its parent company, and their officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes shall be resolved exclusively in the courts of Ontario, Canada.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new Terms on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
