Choose the right word from words that sound the same (to, too and two; there, their and they're) or are easily confused (affect and effect, accept and except, than and then), and use the sentence to tell which meaning a word with more than one meaning has.

How to use this sheet
- Have the child read the whole sentence before choosing the word.
- Give each pair a memory trick, such as "there" has "here" in it, and both words name a place.
- Have the child write their own sentence with each word.
Common mistakes
- Mixing up their, there and they’re. They’re means they are; their shows ownership; there is a place.
- Mixing up to, too and two. Too means also or very.
- Mixing up your and you’re. Read you’re as "you are" to check.
