Compare two groups by matching or counting and say which has more, which has fewer, or that they are the same, then compare two numbers to 10.

How to use this sheet
- Match the two groups one to one with lines before answering. The group with pictures left over has more.
- Ask "How do you know?" after each answer. Matching, counting and seeing are all good reasons.
- Use real objects for any question that causes trouble: two piles of spoons are easier than two rows of pictures.
Common mistakes
- Choosing the group that takes up more space, even if its pictures are spread out. Match the pictures one to one to check.
- Choosing the group with the bigger pictures. Ask "How many?", not "Which looks bigger?"
- Mixing up the words "more" and "fewer". Read each question aloud and point to the word.
