How to use this sheet
- Have the child find the noun each pronoun stands for, and draw an arrow back to it.
- For I or me, have the child take the other person out of the sentence and say it again.
- Read the sentences aloud: a wrong pronoun often sounds wrong.
Common mistakes
- Saying "Me and Sam went". Take Sam out: "Me went" sounds wrong, so it is "Sam and I went".
- Mixing up its and it’s. It’s means "it is"; its shows ownership.
- Using a pronoun when it is not clear which noun it stands for.
