How to use this sheet
- Have the child read the title and the labels of each graph aloud before answering questions.
- For a scaled picture graph, have the child find the key and say what one picture is worth.
- Make a tally chart of something real, such as the pets of friends, after the sheet.
Common mistakes
- Counting each picture as 1 when the key says each is worth 2 or more.
- Miscounting tally marks in groups of five. The crossing line is the fifth mark.
- For "how many more", giving the bigger number instead of the difference.
