Read and write large whole numbers in numerals, words and expanded form, say what each digit is worth, compare and order them, and round them to any place.

How to use this sheet
- Have the child read each number aloud before working on it. Large numbers are easier once they can be said.
- Draw or use the place value chart on the sheet for every number until the child no longer needs it.
- For the value of a digit, ask for both answers: the digit, and what it is worth, such as "the 7 is worth 7,000".
Common mistakes
- Leaving out zeros, so four thousand twenty-five becomes 425. Fill in every place on the chart, using zeros for the empty ones.
- Giving the digit instead of its value, so the value of 6 in 4,600 is written as 6. Ask "6 what?"
- Putting the comma in the wrong place, as in 45,00. Count three digits from the right.
