Adding images
Click the image area in any step to upload an image. You can:
- Click to browse — Select a file from your computer
- Drag and drop — Drop an image directly onto the upload area
Supported formats
We support the most common image formats:
- JPEG — Best for photos
- PNG — Best for screenshots and graphics
- GIF — For simple animations
- WebP — Modern format with good compression
Images are automatically optimized for fast loading on all devices.
Image size recommendations
For best results:
- Minimum width: 800px
- Recommended width: 1200px
- Maximum file size: 10MB
Larger images will be automatically resized to ensure fast loading.
Best practices
Use screenshots to show exactly what to do
When explaining a process, capture the actual screen your readers will see.
Keep images focused
Crop to show only the relevant area. Too much visual noise is distracting.
Add annotations when helpful
Use arrows, circles, or highlights to draw attention to specific elements. You can do this before uploading using tools like:
- macOS Preview
- Windows Snipping Tool
- Screenshot apps like CleanShot or Snagit
Consider mobile viewers
Your images will be viewed on phones too. Make sure text in screenshots is readable at smaller sizes.
