Format your text with bold, lists, links, and more.

Text formatting

Select text to see formatting options. Available formats include:

• Bold — Emphasize important words
• Italic — For subtle emphasis or terminology
• Strikethrough — Show removed or outdated content

Lists

Create bulleted or numbered lists to organize information clearly.

Bulleted lists

Use for items without a specific order:

• Feature one
• Feature two
• Feature three

Numbered lists

Use when order matters:

1. First, do this
2. Then, do this
3. Finally, do this

Links

Add links to external resources, other guides, or any URL.

To add a link:

1. Select the text you want to link
2. Click the link button in the toolbar
3. Enter the URL
4. Click save

Links open in a new tab by default, so readers won’t lose their place in your guide.

Headings

Use headings to break up longer step descriptions:

• Heading 2 — Main sections
• Heading 3 — Subsections

Don’t overuse headings in steps—remember, each step should be focused on one concept.

Tips for readability

1. Keep paragraphs short — 2-3 sentences max
2. Use lists — Easier to scan than paragraphs
3. Bold key terms — Helps readers find important info
4. Break up text — White space improves readability
