How email gates work
You can gate any step in your guide. When readers reach that step, they’ll need to enter their email to continue.
This turns your guide into a lead generation tool—you provide value upfront, then capture contact information.
Setting up an email gate
- Open your guide in the editor
- Click the step where you want the gate
- Enable “Require email to continue”
- Save your changes
Readers will see the gate when they reach that step.
Best practices
Gate after demonstrating value (steps 3-5)
Don’t gate too early—readers need to see value before sharing their email. Gate too late and you miss the opportunity.
Good timing: - After showing what they’ll learn - Before the most valuable content - At a natural pause point
Keep the form simple (email only)
Every extra field reduces conversions. Start with email only, add more fields only if essential.
Explain what they’ll receive
Tell readers what happens after they submit:
- “Get the complete guide in your inbox”
- “Unlock the remaining 5 steps”
- “Continue learning”

Access your leads from:
- Dashboard → Your guide → Analytics
- Download as CSV for your records
